Eric Gabriel rappelling Marmot Dome in Yosemite

 

Eric has over twenty-five years of experience working as a Visitor and Resource Protection Ranger for the National Park Service.

During his career, Eric has used his skills as a heli-rappeller and medic in numerous high-angle rescues and has received the U.S. Department of Interior Medal of Valor for life saving activities in high-risk situations.  Eric has experience as both a structural and wildland firefighter.  He has also served as a member of the Intermountain SETT and Yosemite’s Special Response Team.  Eric currently serves as a Type II Incident Commander and a variety of other incident management roles.  In Eric’s twenty five years of experience responding to incidents and as part of an incident management team, he has worked on variety of incidents including search and rescue, major floods, special events, presidential visits, law enforcement incidents, plane crashes and hurricanes.
Eric is also a dedicated cyclist.
