The Ice Age Trail
The Ice Age Trail is one of eleven National Scenic Trails and is contained entirely within Wisconsin. When complete, more than 1,000 miles of trail will follow boundaries of Wisconsin’s last glacier as it retreated more than 10,000 years ago. Approximately 60% of the trail is complete.
Rock County is known as the gateway to the Ice Age Trail since it is the southern most tip of the trail. See glacial highlights in Storrs Lake State Wildlife Area (in Milton) and along sections of the trail that follow the Rock River.
