For many centuries millions have made the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in Northwest Spain to visit the tomb of the apostle Saint James. The walk is not easy. What motivates people to embark on such endeavor?
In this talk, you will learn about the history of the Camino de Santiago:
•  As a religious, spiritual experience done under excruciating circumstances by people moved by an intense faith, as well as for the transformative powers of the experience itself.

In this presentation I will describe what “doing” the Camino entails, based on my two trips there. I will describe what options exist for the contemporary traveler and will offer a few practical suggestions for those who might be inclined to take one of the most famous pilgrimages in history.
